Your 2014 Website & Online Marketing Plan

The holiday season is upon us, but don’t be caught unprepared for 2014.  If you don’t have a plan for your Website & Online Marketing in 2014, here are some items you should be considering:

Your Website

Before you look into your online marketing you first need to look at your website.  There’s no point in marketing your website if it is broken, old, etc.

  • How old is your website?
  • Is it doing what you want/need it to do?
  • Are you able to easily manage the content of your website internally?
  • When is the last time you updated your website?

Online Marketing

Once your website is solid and you’re confident in sending people to it, you can focus on marketing.  Here are some things you should consider doing:holiday-food

Social media management (keeping your pages up to date with fresh and interesting content, so you keep your users engaged, to keep “top of mind” awareness)

Search engine optimization (onsite / offsite seo, to help you bring in more search engine traffic)

Content development (blog posts, whitepapers, email series, etc)

Website conversion optimization (running AB testing on your site to improve conversions)

PPC campaign setup / management

Landing page development (setting up landing pages for specific campaigns / uses, to drive users to complete a specific goal)

Reputation management (making sure we push down any ‘bad’ content out there about you, and promote good content.  it’s good to be proactive)

Email marketing (make sure you have a newsletter setup, and get all of your clients on it… as well as a newsletter for prospects — And then make sure you send emails regularly, or we can setup an auto-send series)

Website maintenance (it is important to not just have a website – but to also keep it up to date with fresh content!)

I’ve been talking with a bunch of our clients about their 2014 marketing/sales plans.  Many of them have had questions about the above items.  These are definitely things you should be familiar with and consider doing in 2014 (or now)!
