A redesign should fix what’s actually broken, not just look newer

Most redesigns just put a new coat of paint on the same slow, low-converting site. We treat a redesign as a new build, starting from your current site instead of a blank page. Same pricing as new development: $2k starting, $5k average.

A redesign should be more than a new theme slapped over the same problems. We look at what’s actually holding your site back, keep what’s working, and rebuild the rest.

What’s included in a redesign

Analytics review.

We look at your current site’s data before we design anything, so decisions are based on how people actually use your site, not guesswork.

Custom design that fixes real problems.

A new design built to address your conversion, speed, and mobile issues, not just a fresh coat of paint.

A full WordPress rebuild.

We rebuild your site on WordPress. This is not a re-skin of your existing site’s code or theme.

Content strategy review.

We go through your existing content and tell you straight what stays, what changes, and what should be cut.

Redirects from every old URL.

Every existing URL gets mapped to its new home so your SEO doesn’t tank when the new site goes live.

Launch-day training.

We walk your team through how to update the new site before we hand it off.

Hosting migration, if needed.

If your current hosting isn’t a good fit for the new build, we handle the move.

30 days of post-launch support.

We stick around after launch to catch anything that needs adjusting.

How we handle redesigns

Most redesigns fail because agencies treat them as coats of paint. New colors, new fonts, same site underneath, and the same problems that made you want a redesign in the first place. We treat redesigns as rebuilds. Some things from your current site are worth keeping, and we’ll tell you exactly what those are.

We don’t preserve broken structure just because it’s already there. If your navigation is confusing or your page architecture doesn’t make sense, we’re changing it. What we do preserve is what’s actually working: URLs that carry SEO equity, content that converts, positioning that resonates with your customers. A redesign is usually the right time to trim your page count, not add more pages nobody reads.

Most sites we work with go 4 to 7 years between redesigns. That’s the range we see across our 700+ WordPress builds — past that, the tech, the visuals, and usually the business itself have moved on far enough that a rebuild pays back faster than piecemeal patches.

Timeline-wise, a redesign runs about the same as a new build. Typically 6 to 10 weeks, depending on scope.

What to expect

We quote after a free call and a look at your current site, not before. Here’s how the process and pricing typically break down.

FAQs

Why does a redesign cost the same as a new build?

Because the work is largely the same. We’re still designing a new site, rebuilding it on WordPress, and reviewing your content and structure. Your current site gives us a reference point, not a shortcut. Pricing starts at $2k, averages $5k, same as a new build.

Will my SEO rankings drop?

Not if it’s handled correctly. We map every existing URL to a redirect on the new site and carry over metadata that’s working. Rankings drop when redesigns get rushed or redirects get skipped, not when they’re planned out. We can’t promise rankings will improve automatically just because the site is new, but we won’t let the redesign tank what you’ve already earned.

Can I keep my existing hosting?

Sometimes. If your current hosting can handle a modern WordPress site, we can build there. If it can’t, we’ll tell you and handle the migration as part of the project.

What happens to my old content?

We review it page by page as part of the content strategy review. Some of it stays as-is, some gets rewritten, and some gets cut. Redesigns are usually a good chance to trim your page count instead of adding to it.

How long does a redesign take vs a new build?

About the same. Most redesigns run 6 to 10 weeks, depending on scope, which lines up with a typical new build timeline.

What to look at next

A site by itself is a starting point, not a finish line. Once yours is live, we can add the marketing pieces that actually drive traffic and leads. All of it’s optional, priced separately, and you don’t have to decide any of it up front.
