Public Library in the Southwest Suburbs of Chicago
The Fountaindale Public Library District inspires the community in Bolingbrook, Illinois through education, enrichment, and discovery. They are constantly striving to improve their services offered to patrons and value continual growth and development.
The Challenge
The Fountaindale Library's old website was as impossible to manage as it was for patrons to navigate. Our goal was to condense and refine all the elements of the site to make it easy to navigate while still keeping its feature-rich environment.
The Solution
We started by rethinking how the site would work from the ground up: how navigations are laid out, how the unique sections are organized and maintained, and how intuitive the features are at every level. Then we built a site that, while containing tons of resources for patrons to utilize, is intuitive at every step.
Client's Results
Since launching in 2018, the team at Fountaindale have made great strides to expand what the site can offer to patrons using our built-in management tools. We continue to work with them and help them grow.

Rethinking the Homepage
We designed a homepage interface that highlights many of the common information, tools, and resources that patrons come to the site to find. Elements are broken up into sections of similar items with visual icons and images.
Content Link Cards
Each section of the site contains a lot of information that could easily become unruly and hard to use. Our solution was a tool for the library to present their section content on colorful cards so patrons can most easily find what they are looking for.
Custom Resources Database
The Fountaindale Library offers hundreds of online tools and resources to their community. We created a database for patrons to refine their search by multiple criteria including age and resource type.
