Your LinkedIn Company Page is an important element of your social media presence.

In order to maximize the benefits of using LinkedIn it is necessary to have an attractive company page that reflects your company.

Four Ways You Can Improve Your Company Page

1. Choose An Interesting / Relevant Banner

  • Stay away from generic photos that dozens of other companies are using.  Use your own photos or put together something unique to stand out.
  • Customers will associate a professional-looking banner with a high-quality page, so make sure you choose a nice photo.
  • Keep in mind that LinkedIn is indeed a more professional social network than Twitter and Facebook, what works on those networks won’t necessarily work on Linkedin.

2. Review Your Content

  • Do not over-use industry buzzwords unless you’re confident that everyone viewing the page knows exactly what they mean.
  • There’s no need to have your company page be an essay. If someone already knows who you are they may just need a quick reminder of what all you do. If someone doesn’t know what you do they will want a quick walkthrough.
  • Keep your content short and concise for best results.

3. Keep Your Company Info Up To Date

  • This should come off as an obvious tip, but it is an important one that many people forget about.  When something big or new happens at your company (a new address, new phone number, new website… some major company info changes) — be sure to update your page.
  • Your profile can be the prettiest one around, but if you don’t have the most up to date info on it someone may not be able to contact you.

4. Keep Your Page Active

  • One of the most important aspects of using LinkedIn is keeping it active.
  • Each time you post an update it will show a snippet on your page and then link to the article/website that you mentioned, so take advantage of that and post content — you don’t have to write it all yourself, feel free to share the content of others.
  • Don’t post only when you have a special offer or want to promote yourself — be a Resource to your followers, not everything you post should be about you.

There are many more tips that could help you use LinkedIn to your advantage, but no one could explain them and apply them better than someone who knows more about your exact situation.  If you have any questions about how your business should be using LinkedIn, contact us.
